Good hostel, a great place to meet people also going to Fraser Island, as this seems to be the main reason for people staying here. There bars are social and theres always something going on. The kitchens are decent sized and clean, as are the rooms.
Well organised and clean hostel. The trip on frazer was awesome, hats off to the team. Something that could be better was food. So much good food wasted due to team self cooking.
Friendly and helpful staff! However, the room we had was terrible. Bunk beds were old, rusted, and were very unstable. Only one socket beside one bed so not helpful if on the top bunk. When I removed the mattress sheet on check out the mattress was disgusting, so dirty! No one should be sleeping on that. Also the air con did not work, no remote either to turn on.
Hostel is fine, but caught one of the managers barking at the employees when they had a day off. Turns out that happens a lot. But hey, you come here for a cool island visit right? Anyway, spacious kitchens are nice. The bar is fun in the evenings and you're five minutes walking from the beach. Bus stops in front of the door. Seems to be the same place as the hostel next door (Fraser).
My fave hostel I've stayed at. Really big and cool layout. And my room was just amazing. Not too cramped with a personal sink and bathroom all in good condition. Very clean. And the pancake breakfast is actually great! Usually free hostel breakfasts are shocking. I don't think there are other choices in rainbow tbh but this is a cool place.
